Get Ready to Configure Your System
Before you start configuring your system, gather the details you need to design the perfect solution for you.
Measure your space.
It needs to be at least 90 inches high. (Check for level floors as this will affect height.)
For depth, you will need 16 inches for a 14-inch-deep system and 22 inches for a 20-inch-deep system.
If your system will sit between two walls, measure baseboard to baseboard for width.
For a closet, measure the doorway and take note of the door’s location on each side and how they open.
Assess your baseboards.
Your system will sit 1 inch away from the wall, so if your baseboards are more than 1-inch deep, you may need to remove them before installation.
Look for obstructions.
Take note of doorways, wall lights, hanging lights, outlets, and switches, as well as gas or water lines and electrical wires that may be in your walls.
